Courtney Thorne-Smith Bio

American actress Courtney Thorne Smith was born on the 8th of November, 1967. Her most well-known role is Alison Parker on Melrose Place and Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal. She also starred as Cheryl in According to Jim and Lyndsey McElroy on Two and a Half Men. Thorne Smith was born in San Francisco and raised in Menlo Park (a suburb to San Francisco). Her father, Walter Smith, was a market researcher for computers, and her mother, Lora Thorne, was a Therapist. They separated when Courtney was just seven. She lived with both parents during different times. Jennifer is her older sister is an ad executive. She attended the Menlo-Atherton High school located in Atherton, California and graduated Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley in 1985. While in the high school system, she appeared with Ensemble Theater Company of Mill Valley. Thorne-Smith was the first actress to make an appearance in the 1986 feature film drama Lucas as well as Winona Ryder Corey Haim, and Charlie Sheen. In the 1980s, she was involved in numerous films including Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II : Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (87) and Side Out (1990). She was in the role of Carrot Top in 1998's box office failure, Chairman of the Board. In 2009, she was a star in Sorority Wars. Thorne Smith was a lover of Andrew Shue in the 1990s. He was her screen lover from Melrose Place. The actress wed geneticist Andrew Conrad in June 2000. They split in 2001. Roger Fishman, the president of Zizo Group marketing and author of What I Know, was her husband. On January 11, 2008, at age 40 she gave birth her son, Jacob Emerson Fishman.
