Abigale Lee
Miller (born September 21, 1965) is a famous American choreographer, dance
instructor, and reality TV personality. Abby Lee Dance Company is her creation,
which was on for eight seasons of Dance Moms. Miller admitted guilt on June
27th, 2016 to criminal bankruptcy fraud. Miller was sentenced on June 27 the
27th of June, 2016 to a year, and one day in federal prison. Miller was
released on March 27 28th, 2018. In April 2018 she was diagnosed with lymphoma
which is a form of cancer that makes it difficult to walk. In order to move
about she relies on wheelchair. Miller grew up around dance in Penn Hills,
Pennsylvania, located in a Pittsburgh suburb. She attended classes under her
mother's direction at the Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. Miller was 14 when she
was given choreography and coaching duties for one of her mother's competitive
dance teams. Miller assumed control of the company and changed it's name to
Reign Dance Productions in 1995. Miller was certified by Dance Masters of
America, and was a part of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter 10 (February
1986). However, DMA terminated her membership in February 2012 due to Miller's
reality TV show Dance Moms was a "complete false representation of our
teachers and their students" and was damaging to the profession.
